I am a teacher and coach by profession and at heart. A few years ago, I met a wonderful young woman who would later become my wife. I had two rescue pits and she had three dogs of her own at the time, so our new ‘family’ immediately was one of love and dogs. Jazare, my wife, had already been grooming professionally for almost a decade when we met. A few months after we started dating, she introduced me officially to the world of grooming when she invited me to the Orlando Grooming Convention back in October of 2012. I was amazed at the turnout, but also the high prices at a “discounted” show. $300 for one pair of scissors?
You can see where this is going. My new girlfriend did not break the bank as a groomer and she didn’t just want new tools, she needed them. Scissors of this style, chunkers here, thinners there, a dryer to make some extra money grooming at home – it was all way too high for her initial budget. I offered to buy her dryer for an early Christmas gift and it dawned on me that she was only able to buy two scissors totaling almost the $500 she went there with. I immediately began to do extensive research because I knew that Jazare was not in this dilemma alone.
Fast forward to October 2015. We are now married, Jazare is pregnant, and we invite her good friend (also a groomer) to her first grooming convention. Elizabeth, who is also a groomer, was in the exact same boat as Jazare was back in 2012. At this stage, we had already a few prototypes from manufacturers, still nailing down the quality and pricing that met our standards. When I saw Elizabeth heartbroken when she could not afford everything she needed, just like Jazare was, it was time to kickstart my motivation and get our company up and running officially.

Our first-ever trade show was at the Orlando grooming convention, taking a chance on others that they would take a chance on us – it was magical! Ryker was born on January 2nd. 2016 six weeks premature. He had to be hospitalized in the NICU for over seven weeks and he truly is our inspiration. Kinley was born on March 6th, 2018, the same birthday as her “Grammy”.
